Yellow is the color for the RSC 2017 June.  I like the top two but the jury is out about the bottom one.  I think it is too light against the background.

You can see how the top two stand out with this close-up.

I was honored with a visit to my blog from Mystic Quilter https://mysticquilter.blogspot.com/ .  She is an incredible artist with fabric.  Her bold color choice has inspired me to explore exciting color.

  1. Yes, that bottom block is very light, but it will add variety to your quilt.

    1. When I first looked at the yellow, I thought there would be more contrast with the background. I think I will wait until I have all my blocks done and see what they look like on the design wall.

  2. We have all been having a,tough time with yellow. I tried to find light but very bright yellows, which help in the paler range. I do a lot of shuffling fabrics around. I love your blocks and they will be good in the rainbow.

    1. I have wanted to do a Bear Paw for years and I wanted to do it in various colors. My fabric stash was filled with batiks I just bought because they were pretty - just fat quarters. RSC seemed to be the perfect way to start!

  3. Those light yellows sometimes work better as contrast for browns and oranges. Like you, I found it out through experimentation. Your blocks are sure lovely, though!!
